Tomorrow’s Apple Event

Steve Jobs Giving an Event KeynoteApple is holding one of their widely-publicized invite-only events tomorrow. Apple uses these events to introduce new products and updates to current stuff. September events are held yearly, and we’ve come to expect them to mean iPod updates. Rumors of an iPad and AppleTV update are all over the internet right now as well.

What do you think they’ll announce? What would you like to see?

Edit (9/1/10):
It looks like Apple is going to be providing a live video stream of the event on their website. They used to always provide video, but stopped sometime back in 2005. There is some speculation that the basis for the change was the Wi-Fi disaster that made it so Steve Jobs couldn’t demonstrate certain features on the iPhone 4 at the last event. Either way, I’m happy to see the option come back.

St. George Grand Opening Recap

Well, the whole team is back in the office today after Saturday’s huge party in St. George. We definitely had a blast, and we’re so glad that we were able to show St. George a good time.

So many awesome Simply Mac fans came out to support our grand opening, and we couldn’t be more excited about the enthusiasm we saw out there. We had well over 300 people in line before the store even opened! And since it was 95+ degrees outside, we made sure to take care of everyone with umbrellas, freebies, and of course, free food.

Steve and I headed out in the wee hours of the morning to pick up food for the masses. That's 16 dozen donuts right there, kids. That's a lot of donuts!

The best part about the entire grand opening was probably giving away the big prizes to the lucky winners.

The Party is On in St. George!

Things are in full swing here at our grand opening in St. George. We already gave away one MacBook to a lucky winner, and we’re just about to announce the winner of the Mac it to Win It competition. It’s been a blast so far, and things are only getting started.

All 100 of the giveaway bags lined up and ready to go.

We decked out the store for the big day with balloons all over the place.

St. George Store Grand Opening Tomorrow!

Partying it Up with the Fast 50

Today the team got all spruced up and headed to the Utah Fast 50 awards luncheon. The Utah Business Fast 50 program highlights the 50 fastest growing companies based in Utah. We placed second in the Emerging 8 category, which consists of eight companies who are less than five years old with exceptional revenue performance and high growth potential. It was a pretty huge honor, and we were all excited to party it up with other cool local companies.

They definitely went all out on the spread at this thing. Cloth napkins, fancy butter, and all kinds of silverware. I hear the trick is to work from the outside in.  And for the record, the salad was spectacular. I was feeling that garlic breath all day long.

Matt is not as stoked about butter and teacups. But still excited about real parmesan on the salad.

Tyler is really excited about his fancy pants salmon.

It was pretty cool to watch our president, Steve Bain, walk on stage on accept the award. As a growing company, getting recognition as #2 in a pool of awesome companies felt pretty great.

And here we all are with the official Fast 50 award.

A great time was had by all, and we’re excited about where the company is headed. And of course, thanks to you, our loyal customers, for your support! Hooray!
